Description

8-month full-time paid research apprenticeship at Cohere Labs (the research arm of Cohere), running January–August each year. Scholars are matched with senior mentors based on research interests and work on frontier ML problems — efficiency, multilingual AI, safety, and more — with the goal of producing published papers or open-source code. Unlike the separate Cohere research internship (which requires a PhD), this program is explicitly designed for aspiring researchers who lack publications or formal research credentials. Applications open each August; 2026 cohort deadline is August 29. Paid full-time role with health benefits and a weekly learning stipend.
